'Another 15 years of misery!' Draymond Green leaves New Yorkers FUMING by claiming Knicks playoffs run as ‘fluke’
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Golden State Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green shared his opinion on the New York Knicks’ success this season, where he boldly called it a fluke and compared them to past teams like the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers, who had one-time Conference Finals appearances but failed to sustain success.

Draymond Green went further to point out that the Eastern Conference offers an easier path to the Conference Finals, which allows teams to get ahead by playing “mid-level” teams. Furthermore, he warned that this success is short-term and may lead to a long period of misery, as seen with the Hawks and Blazers.

In the Eastern Conference, you can get to the Conference Finals, a la Atlanta Hawks by playing very mid teams. That's what you're doing right now. What's that setting y'all up for is what happened to the Atlanta Hawks three years ago when they made the Conference Finals and never got back… They paid all their guys because they thought they had a chance, but it was a fluke. Draymond Green said on the Draymond Green Show:

Furthermore, the comments made by Green about the New York Knicks were met with a lot of criticism, especially on social media. However, his point about the fleeting nature of success remains valid.

Despite Green’s harsh words, which have become the new norm, the Knicks are dealing with significant injury issues, including the long-term absence of All-Star Julius Randle and the wear and tear on players like Josh Hart, who surprisingly is having little rest. This has made it difficult to assess their true potential and whether they as a franchise can sustain their success beyond this season.

Draymond Green quickly dismisses Steph Curry versus Jalen Brunson debate

Draymond Green didn’t hesitate to dismiss the absurd idea that Knicks’ Jalen Brunson has become the best point guard in the NBA, as he cited teammate Steph Curry and Mavs Luka Doncic as superior players. Brunson has been phenomenal in the playoffs, but the veteran forward believes it’s premature to consider him the best.

F--k no! Steph Curry in the NBA. Dude, are you crazy? What? Come on, no. That's ridiculous. Steph Curry is still in the NBA, he's still great. Come on. Stop it, what? Luka Doncic is also a point guard. Draymond Green added

Further, Brunson’s impressive stats of 35.6 points, 8.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game, are not enough to surpass Curry, who has consistently demonstrated greatness throughout his career. Green went on to argue that Brunson needs to lead a team to the Conference Finals or even the NBA Finals to be considered among the best.

Curry, who is a four-time champion and one of the game’s greats remains the top point guard due to his impressive averages and shooting percentage. However, if the Warriors disappoint again next season, then the argument can be made of a possible overthrow, but for now, the crown belongs to STEPH CURRY.
