Opportunity for Celtic as Spurs ready to offload Fraser Forster

Ange Postecoglou has started the process of rebuilding his squad for his second season in charge of the London club have a list of players that he is prepared to let go has emerged, with Fraser Forester the first name on the list.

Ange Postecoglou of course was the Celtic manager before taking the Spurs job eleven months ago and maintains strong links with the club. Only last week he was talking about being thrilled at Celtic’s title win after watching the 5-0 win over Kilmarnock.

He also used his experience at Celtic to re-educate the Spurs fans on what a successful, trophy winning football club looks like. It looks like Celtic.

Fraser Forster is 36, roughly the same age as Joe Hart was when he left Celtic to join Celtic, for what turned out to be a bargain fee of just £1m. Stevie Woods, maybe even Joe Hart could do some due diligence on where Forster is fitness wise. Ange Postecoglou, surely would be happy to provide his own assessment and that of his staff.

If everything looks fine, Forster could surely do a Joe Hart type job for Celtic for two, maybe three seasons and we’ll know what we’re getting. It is surely an option well worth considering.

Put it this way, if Ange was still the manager of Celtic, after the successful Joe Hart signing, you’d think he’d be well up for repeating the trick by signing Fraser Forster…
